Database on Healthy Immune
System Developed by Researchers
A new study of twins has yielded a reference database on how the immune system is genetically regulated under normal, healthy conditions.
While many genetic risk factors have been linked to autoimmune disorders, how a genetic change leads to disease is not always clear. Researchers can use this new database to see how a genetic change may affect the immune system and, subsequently, incorporate this information in the design of future studies.
