Messenger RNA (mRNA)-based therapeutics have moved from concept into clinical evaluation across immuno-oncology. This symposium discusses how mRNA-encoded, antigen-directed approaches generate anti-tumor immunity, and how they sit alongside checkpoint inhibition, cell therapy and other novel modalities. Faculty will cover the mechanistic basis of mRNA therapies — antigen selection and prediction, delivery, and the resulting T-cell priming and expansion — and how this differs from other immunotherapeutic approaches.
The program will review current clinical evidence across tumor types and disease settings, including earlier-stage and minimal residual disease contexts, matching the strength of each conclusion to the design that produced it. Sessions will also address biomarker and patient-selection considerations, including tumor mutational burden, neoantigen burden and circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA)-based measures, and the multidisciplinary requirements of delivering individualized therapies in practice.
The From Resection to Dose: Individualized Antigen-Directed Therapeutics in Immuno-Oncology, content and views expressed therein are those of Medscape Education and not of SITC.
