Many New Drugs Were Approved After Just One Study, Analysis Finds
Stanford researchers found that in 2024, more than two-thirds of new drugs approved by the FDA were sanctioned based on findings from a single study, CIDRAP reported. The findings also show a sharp increase in industry-sponsored studies. The senior author of the analysis called the results "concerning, as it allows products to reach the market without independent confirmation of the findings.”
