Women with flu are more than twice as likely to be hospitalized when pregnant. Babies younger than 6 months old are at the highest risk of all children for flu hospitalization. Flu vaccination during pregnancy can lower the risk of flu hospitalization in pregnant women by an average of 40%, and in babies ≤ 6 months old by an average of 72%.
