Hepatitis C Medicaid Affinity Group Now Accepting New State Applications

Viral Hepatitis Updates from the HHS Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy

Dear Colleague,

The HHS Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy (OIDP) announced a new opportunity to join the Hepatitis C Medicaid Affinity Group (Affinity Group) for 2020. States are invited to participate in the third year of the Affinity Group , an opportunity to share innovative strategies to identify and cure people with hepatitis C. The Affinity Group offers technical assistance for states to identify their own goal(s) based on their unique epidemiology and resources, then work toward achieving the goal over the one-year project. The Affinity Group encourages collaboration between Medicaid, public health, state corrections agencies, and - starting in 2020 - state behavioral health agencies working on opioid and substance use disorder initiatives.

Read our recent blog to learn more about the Affinity Group, including how to apply and what to expect. Join federal partners for an October 21 informational webinar for more details and a chance to ask questions about the group.

We look forward to launching a new year of this collaborative effort and to working together with participating states toward hepatitis elimination.
