AHRQ Funding for Healthcare-Associated Infections and for Combating Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria Available
Each year, about 2 million people become infected with drug resistant bacteria and at least 23,000 people die from these infections. The inappropriate use of antibiotics is the single most important factor leading to antibiotic resistance.
AHRQ funds research projects to advance the knowledge of detection, prevention, and reduction of HAIs, as well as combating antibiotic-resistant bacteria. The next deadline for submitting new demonstration and dissemination proposals (R18) is January 25, 2019 and February 5, for large research projects (R01). Look for the yellow box at the top of the page for funding details.
Help us discover new methods to combat antibiotic resistance and conduct antibiotic stewardship. It’s U.S. Antibiotic Awareness Week. Be Antibiotics Aware.
