Applying Science. Advancing Practice. (ASAP)

Applying Science, Advancing Practice (ASAP) is a series of products developed through the Rapid Synthesis and Translation Process (RSTP). This process is collaborative and multi-sector in that it brings violence prevention practitioners and research scientists together from the very beginning of the translation process. (Translation refers to the development of products and tools derived from scientific knowledge/evidence that are user friendly and action oriented). Essentially, the RSTP bridges the research-to-practice gap by including the field from the beginning and keeping the researchers and practitioners involved throughout the process. The goal of the process is to deliver accessible and relevant information related to science and evidence that informs the work of practitioners within a short period of time. The resulting products (ASAPs) are intended to place greater emphasis on actionable knowledge—knowledge rooted in science and made accessible, useful, and relevant for application in the field.
