No one should die from a heat wave, but every summer, people do. Extreme heat events are one of the leading causes of weather-related deaths in the United States. According to CDC statistics, between 1999 and 2010, heat killed 7,415 individuals in the United States. By taking care of ourselves and each other, we can prevent heat-related illness and death.
