In the Digest this month several authors report on health communication intervention design and evaluation (Biroscak, et al.; Crombie, et al.; Resnicow, et al.; van Zyl, et al.). Writers examining health message design factors discuss both anecdotes (Ricketts) and visual imagery (Juszczyk, et al.; Zhoa, et al.). The expanding role of new media health messaging (Freeman, et al.; Liang, et al; Merchant, et al.) and several perspectives health message design factors health messaging via traditional media (Clinton-McHarg, et al.; Lambert & Wu; Suran, et al.) are also detailed. Additionally, aspects of health literacy(Franzen, et al.; Ng & Omariba; Victorson, et al.) are discussed.
