Doctors can save lives by implementing two simple protocols when they suspect a patient has sepsis, according to Dr. Mitchell Levy, co-chair of the Surviving Sepsis Campaign Management Guidelines Committee, medical director of the medical intensive care unit at Rhode Island Hospital, and professor at Brown University’s Warren Alpert Medical School.
