Free Disaster Mobile App From SAMHSA Since January 2014, 39 Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)-declared disasters have hit communities across the country. Be prepared to respond to any disaster—whether natural or human-caused—with the SAMHSA Behavioral Health Disaster Response App. The SAMHSA Behavioral Health Disaster Response App is designed to meet the needs of disaster responders. It was developed with input from experts from across HHS, FEMA, the American Red Cross, and state health departments. "The app has been very helpful for behavioral health responders out in the field who need to share information with survivors," said Elizabeth Whipkey, a crisis counselor in Oologah, Oklahoma. "Survivors need to be able to access resources electronically—especially when they have no place left to store paper. Now, the information they need is right at their fingertips when they need it." Already have the SAMHSA Disaster App? Help improve it! Help us improve future versions of the SAMHSA Behavioral Health Disaster Response App by taking the feedback survey. You can access the survey directly from the "Provide Feedback" link on the home screen of the app or take the survey here. Take the SAMHSA Disaster App User Survey |
