1. Botulism Associated with Home-Fermented Tofu in Two Chinese Immigrants — New York City, March–April 2012
In March 2012, the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene received two reports of recent immigrants from China admitted to the same hospital 23 days apart for suspected foodborne botulism.
2. Suicide and Suicidal Ideation Among Bhutanese Refugees — United States, 2009–2012
During the period February 2009–February 2012, the Office of Refugee Resettlement of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reported 16 suicides among the approximately 57,000 Bhutanese refugees who had resettled in the United States since 2008.
