Join CDC and partners for the release of the first edition of the Model Aquatic Health Code for final public comment. The event will take place at the National Environmental Health Aquatic Symposium, a special preconference at this year’s National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) Annual Educational Conference & Exhibition. The preconference will be held Monday, July 8th from 1-5 p.m.
CDC, public health, and industry experts have spent the past several years creating the Model Aquatic Health Code. It provides free, science-based standards to reduce risk of the following:
- Waterborne disease outbreaks,
- Drowning,
- Pool chemical poisoning, and
- Pool closures.
Up until now, the Model Aquatic Health Code was a set of modules based on specific topic areas. In July, you will see the first integrated version of the code, modeled after the Food and Drug Administration’s Food Code.
The symposium is free with any one-day conference registration. Contact Jill (jSchnipke@neha.org) today to reserve your spot in this special preconference!
