GUIDELINE FOR THE PREVENTION AND CONTROL OF NOROVIRUS GASTROENTERITIS OUTBREAKS IN HEALTHCARE SETTINGS

Approximately 21 million illnesses caused by norovirus are estimated to occur each year in the United States. Today on CDC’s Safe Healthcare Blog, Dr. Taranisia MacCannell, epidemiologist in CDC’s Division of Healthcare Quality Promotion, discusses the importance of norovirus prevention in healthcare settings and introduces a new CDC guideline aimed at providing clinicians and infection prevention experts with a step-by-step resource to assist them in achieving this goal.
