Help Moms with a History of Gestational Diabetes Delay or Prevent Type 2 Diabetes by Keeping Up Healthy Habits

As we celebrate Mother's Day (May 10) and National Women's Health Week (May 10–16), the NDEP wants all mothers with gestational diabetes and a history of gestational diabetes to learn about their lifelong risk for getting type 2 diabetes. The NDEP has resources to help these women take steps now to stay healthy and delay or prevent type 2 diabetes later in life.

Continue to Promote Diabetes Awareness Throughout May!

The month of May offers a variety of opportunities to raise awareness about diabetes prevention and management. In observance of Older Americans MonthAsian-Pacific American Heritage Month, and Healthy Vision Month, the NDEP encourages you to share helpful and practical diabetes resources for older adults and Asian-American Pacific Islanders, and increase awareness aboutdiabetic eye disease.

Share more resources about diabetes and vision. NDEPs Healthy Eyes Matter has been reviewed for plain language principles. The Working Together to Manage Diabetes  is a toolkit for Pharmacy, Podiatry, Optometry, and Dentistry (PPOD) providers.
