Registration is now open for Advancing the Response to COVID-19: Sharing Promising Programs and Practices for Racial and Ethnic Minority Communities, a virtual symposium hosted by the U.S Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of Minority Health (OMH) taking place on September 17, 2020. Join us to learn from national, state, tribal and local experts leading these efforts to help public health leaders and community organizations confront the disproportionate impact of the pandemic on racial and ethnic minority populations.
About the Virtual Symposium
By bringing health professionals, community leaders and public policy leaders together, the OMH virtual symposium will foster a meaningful exchange of actionable ideas for responding to the pandemic through the examination of a wide range of topics, including:
- COVID-19 racial and ethnic data and data-informed response
- How health equity can drive state, territorial, and tribal COVID-19 response
- Community-based and culturally appropriate approaches for addressing COVID-19 among racial and ethnic minority populations
Continuing education credit hours (CECH) for professionals who are designated Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES) or Master CHES (MCHES) will be available. If interested in receiving credits, please provide your full name and CHES ID number to virtualsym_CEUs@ minorityhealth.hhs.gov.
