COVID-19 cases cross 500
India reported its 10th coronavirus-linked death after a 65-year-old patient passed away in Mumbai, taking the toll due to COVID-19 to three in the metropolis. The COVID-19 count continued to surge across the country, with number of cases crossing 500 on Tuesday even as Uttar Pradesh joined 30 states and Union Territories to go into complete lockdown. Meanwhile, Japan Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has proposed a one-year postponement for the Tokyo Olympics during his talks with IOC President Thomas Bach. Abe said a postponement was unavoidable if the 2020 Games cannot be held in a complete manner amid the coronavirus pandemic. Globally, the number of deaths due to the coronavirus soared to 16,652, with more than 334,000 people infected.
