CDC Provides Estimates of Flu Illnesses, Medical Visits, and Hospitalizations
According to new weekly preliminary influenza burden estimates, so far during the 2018-2019 season between about 9.8 and 11.4 million people have been sick with flu, approximately half of those people have sought medical care for their illness, and between 113,000 and 136,000 people have been hospitalized from flu. These estimates cover the period from October 1, 2018 through January 19, 2019.
