Fogarty awards $10.7M to build tobacco control and prevention research capacity in developing countries
Fogarty has awarded seven new grants to fund research on tobacco control and prevention in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs), while also promoting international research collaborations between investigators in the U.S. and LMIC scientists. With support from the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the NIH Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research (OBSSR) and Fogarty, the awards - expected to total $10.7 million over five years - were issued through Fogarty's International Tobacco and Health Research and Capacity Building Program.
