CDC’s Dr. Beth Bell talks about Antibiotic Resistance: What It Is, What We’re Doing about It, and What You Can Do to Help

Dr. Beth Bell

Last September, President Obama signed an Executive Order launching Federal efforts to address the rise in antibiotic-resistant bacteria, and the administration released the National Strategy for Combating Antibiotic Resistance. The President’s FY 2016 Budget builds on these and other recent work by nearly doubling Federal funding for combating and preventing antibiotic resistance.
In a blog post written for MomsRising.org, Dr. Beth Bell, the director of CDC’s National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases, discusses the growing problem of antibiotic resistance and a few of the ways this funding will help protect patients and communities from this urgent threat.
