Funding Announcements
PCORI Funding Announcements (PFAs) are issued to support a portfolio of comparative clinical effectiveness research based on PCORI’s National Priorities for Research and Research Agenda. PCORI’s first Research Agenda includes five broad areas. Each area represents a line of research inquiry that addresses currently unmet needs of patients, their caregivers, clinicians and other healthcare system stakeholders in making personalized healthcare decisions across a wide range of conditions and treatments.For more information on funded PFA projects click here.

Assessment of Prevention, Diagnosis, and Treatment Options –for projects that address critical decisions that patients, their caregivers and clinicians face with too little information
2. Improving Healthcare Systems – for projects that address critical decisions that face health care systems, the patients and caregivers who rely on them, and the clinicians who work within them
3. Communication and Dissemination Research– for projects that address critical elements in the communication and dissemination process among patients, their caregivers and clinicians
4. Addressing Disparities – for projects that will inform the choice of strategies to eliminate disparities
5. Accelerating Patient-Centered Outcomes Research and Methodological Research – for projects to improve the nation’s underlying capacity to conduct patient-centered outcomes research rapidly, efficiently and consistently over time
