Funding Opportunity Announcements
The intent of this announcement to eligible health departments is to continue National HIV Behavioral Surveillance (NHBS), an ongoing bio-behavioral surveillance system among high-risk populations (including men who have sex with men, persons who inject drugs and heterosexuals at increased risk for HIV infection) in Metropolitan Statistical Areas with the highest HIV prevalence in the United States.

PS15-1506: Health Department Demonstration Projects to Reduce HIV Infections and Improve Engagement in HIV Medical Care among Men Who Have Sex with Men (MSM) and Transgender Persons

The purpose of this FOA is to support up to 24 state and local health departments in the United States to implement PrEP (Category 1) and Data to Care (Category 2) demonstration projects prioritizing populations of MSM and transgender persons at high risk for HIV infection, particularly persons of color.

On January 23, 2015, the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) began an ongoing investigation of an outbreak of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection, after Indiana disease intervention specialists reported 11 confirmed HIV cases traced to a rural county in southeastern Indiana.
