Breastfeeding and Human Milk Quality Improvement Initiatives

Thursday, October 16, 2014, 1pm – 2:30 pm Eastern Time

State Perinatal Quality Collaboratives (PQCs) are networks of perinatal care providers and public health professionals working to improve pregnancy outcomes for women and newborns by advancing evidence-based clinical practices and processes.
CDC funds statewide PQCs in California, New York, and Ohio and worked with these networks to sponsor a series of Webinars from October 2012 through August 2013. These Webinars were intended to help PQCs share knowledge and experiences, and teach other states how to start, maintain, and grow their own collaboratives. Due to an overwhelming response, a second series of Webinars is being held every two months in 2013–2014, focusing on specific perinatal quality improvement initiatives. Webinars are available to participants in all states.

This Webcast will present a discussion of quality improvement initiatives addressing human milk and breastfeeding, including use of human milk in the neonatal intensive care setting and improving support for breastfeeding in hospitals. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions and participate in the discussion.
