Award-winning project on Tuberous Sclerosis Complex
Catarina Loução and a group of students created a scientific magazine dedicated to Tuberous Sclerosis Complex (TSC) as part of the competition “Genetics & Rare Diseases – One Vision, Multiple Perspectives”, promoted by the Department of Human Genetics at the National Institute of Health Doutor Ricardo Jorge in Portugal. The project was awarded first prize and aims to improve science communication and increase awareness of TSC among the general public, students, and the wider rare disease community. The team also presented their work at the 6th World Rare Disease Day Conference on 28 February in Portalegre, Portugal. The magazine is available in Portuguese and English, offering accessible but detailed insights into this rare condition. Read the magazine!
