Molecular biology in nature has been around whether as a result of chemical evolution on Earth or having been imported from elsewhere as supposed by panspermia. Molecular biology in science was emerging in the 1930s. In 1938, Warren Weaver (1894–1978) coined the name “molecular biology,” and this is why this date is often referred to as its beginning [1]. Weaver did much more than coining a name; as a division head at the Rockefeller Foundation, he facilitated support for budding research directions.
