The Prognostic Impact of Variant Allele Frequency (VAF) in TP53 Mutant Patients With MDS: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Abstract

1.Our study is the first to analyze the genomic intra-difference of the prognostic impact of VAF in TP53 gene mutant MDS patients. 2. The results of our meta-analysis, including 13 cohorts of 11 studies, revealed that TP53 high VAF is an independent, adverse prognostic factor for OS in MDS patients. 3.We believe that the subset of patients with low allele mutation frequencies should be given more aggressive treatment strategies to achieve a better prognosis and longer survival. At the same time, the high mutation frequency part should result in early intervention and aggressive treatment for some patients.
