Having a BLaST in Alaska…and Beyond

A laboratory research and teaching technician for the University of Alaska, Fairbanks’ Biomedical Learning and Student Training (BLaST) program, Lori Gildehaus, Ph.D., talks about supporting students at eight universities across Alaska. BLaST is one of 10 sites across the country in the Building Infrastructure Leading to Diversity initiative, which aims to find the best ways to engage and retain students from diverse backgrounds in biomedical research.
