COVID-19 Travel Recommendations by Country | CDC

COVID-19 Travel Recommendations by Country | CDC

COVID-19 Virus

If you must travel, follow these travel tips

Travel increases your chances of getting and spreading COVID-19. Staying home is the best way to protect yourself and others from getting sick. There is also a level 3 global travel health notice still in effect. If you do plan on traveling in the US, pack supplies to help protect against COVID-19
  • Cloth face coverings
  • Hand sanitizer (at least 60% alcohol)
  • Tissues
  • Travel-size disinfectants
  • Copies of your health insurance card, medical information, and prescriptions
  • A contact card (contact information for family members or a close contact and your health care providers)
  • Enough of your medicine to last you for the entire trip
  • Non-perishable food and water for your trip in case restaurants and stores are closed
If you are considering cleaning your travel lodgings, see CDC’s guidance on how to clean and disinfect. For more tips on what to pack, see the complete travel health kit list.

Remember, during the COVID-19 pandemic, many airlines and hotels have more flexible change and cancellation policies. Don’t travel if you are sick or if you have been around someone with COVID-19 in the past 14 days. Don’t travel with someone who is sick.

Watch yourself for symptoms of coronavirus. CDC’s symptoms of coronavirus self-checker tool can help tell you if your symptoms could be due to COVID-19. If you think you have COVID-19,
  • Stay home except to get medical care.
  • Separate yourself from other people.
  • Monitor your symptoms.
  • Call ahead before visiting a doctor.
See what to do if you are sick for more information. If you think you had close contact with someone who was sick or if you traveled outside the United States, stay home for 14 days, monitor your health, and practice social distancing.
