Twin birth rate falls in the US due to improvements in reproductive technology
After approximately three decades of a steady increase, the rate of twin births in the US has fallen for the first time, with a downward trend observed between 2014 and 2018.
According to a new report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the twin birth rate dropped by 4% between 2014 to 2018. Experts say the decline may reflect advances in reproductive technologies that increase the likelihood of single births.
