September 27 is National Gay Men’s HIV/AIDS Awareness Day
HIV has a continuing and disproportionate impact on gay and bisexual men in the United States. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in 2014, gay and bisexual men made up an estimated 2% of the U.S. population but accounted for 70% of new HIV infections. September 27 is a day set aside each year to focus on the impact of HIV and AIDS on gay and bisexual men.
