GAME PLAN for Preventing Type 2 Diabetes: A Toolkit for Health Care Professionals and Teams

NDEP has updated its popular GAME PLAN for Preventing Type 2 Diabetes: A Toolkit for Health Care Professionals and Teams resource to help health care professionals identify, counsel, and support patients at risk for type 2 diabetes. This online toolkit features prediabetes screening information, strategies for talking to patients about prediabetes, and multiple tools and resources to help patients make lifestyle changes to prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes.

Control Your Diabetes For Life and tip sheet Get Real! You Don't Have to Knock Yourself Out to Prevent Diabetes—can help the men in your community learn how to prevent or manage diabetes.

Explore Diabetes HealthSense

NDEP's Diabetes HealthSense website can help you find resources to support people in making changes to live well, whether they have diabetes or are at risk for the disease. Among these resources is AADE7 Self-Care Behaviors Healthy Coping, a handout that provides tips on how to deal with the emotional lows of having diabetes.

New CDC Study on Latino Health

According to its first study on Latino Health, Hispanics have lower deaths than whites from most of the 10 leading causes of death with three exceptions – more deaths from diabetes and chronic liver disease, and similar numbers of deaths from kidney diseases.
