Release of the U.S. Selected Practice Recommendations for Contraceptive Use, 2013
Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) sent this bulletin at 06/14/2013 12:16 PM EDTCDC has released the U.S. Selected Practice Recommendations for Contraceptive Use, 2013 (US SPR).
- New clinical guidance document for health care providers
- Recommendations for common, yet sometimes complex, contraceptive management issues
- Adapted from global guidance provided by the World Health Organization (WHO)
Many of the US SPR recommendations have been adapted from WHO to be more specific to U.S. practices, and new topics of interest to U.S. providers have been added. These recommendations are meant to serve as a source of clinical guidance for health care providers; health care providers should always consider the individual clinical circumstances of each person seeking family planning services.
