SAMHSA Headlines: Toolkit for Preventing Teen Suicide; Up to $43.6 Million Available in Grants

Preventing Suicide: A Toolkit for High Schools cover
A new toolkit aims to assist high schools and school districts in designing and implementing strategies that prevent suicide and promote behavioral health.
The Helpline, 1-800-985-5990, is currently responding to those affected by recent storm damage in the East; Tropical Storm Debby; and wildfires in the West.
The program is designed to address two substance abuse prevention priorities: 1) underage drinking among people age 12 to 20; and 2) prescription drug misuse and abuse among people age 12 to 25.
The program's goal is to help states improve the real-time access to PDMP data by integrating existing technologies like electronic health records.
