CDC Web Updates: New Items Added to CDC's HIV Web site





Updated Slide Set: HIV Surveillance in Injection Drug User (through 2010)Slides on HIV surveillance in injection drug users, have been updated with information from the 2010 HIV surveillance report. 
New Site: HIV and the LawThis new site focuses on the how legal policies are facilitators or barriers to effective HIV prevention. CDC has focused on the public health implications of state statutes and regulations across key HIV prevention topic areas, such as HIV testing, Medicaid reimbursement for routine HIV screening, laboratory reporting and viral load data for HIV surveillance purposes, and criminalization of potential HIV exposure. 
Updated HIV Planning Guidance for Health Department HIV Prevention ProgramsThe HIV Planning Guidance, formerly known as the HIV Prevention Community Planning Guidance is now available. The guidance supports this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) 12-1201.
Updated Prep Information: FDA Approval of Drug for HIV Prevention The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced it has approved the drug combination of 300 mg tenofovir and 200 mg emtricitabine (TDF/FTC; brand name Truvada) for daily use by uninfected adults to help prevent the sexual acquisition of HIV.
