The webinar will be led by Dr. Alain Litwin, Executive Director, Addiction Research Center & Vice Chair, Academic & Research, Prisma Health System. Dr. Litwin will begin with an overview of HCV and injection drug use and then discuss the Hepatitis C Real Options (HERO) Study, which compared two models for HCV care. He will review lessons learned with regards to stigma, mistrust, and the importance of peer support (i.e., individuals with lived experience) in treatment and explore models for scale up in rural areas (e.g., telehealth, mobile sites, connecting with hard-to-reach groups, and payment systems). Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with Dr. Litwin via a moderated question and answer segment at the conclusion of the presentations. The webinar is open to all, but registration is required.
