Quick Facts: Hepatitis C

Hepatitis C infections have more than tripled since 2010, primarily as a result of increased injection of opioids and other drugs.
There are several antiviral HCV treatments that cure more than 90% of people who take them in 8 to 12 weeks.
In April, CDC issued new hepatitis C screening recommendations - all adults should be tested at least once and all pregnant women during every pregnancy.

Mapping Hepatitis Elimination in Action

A growing number of hepatitis elimination projects are being established across the United States. These projects implement the National Viral Hepatitis Action Plan’s call for more coordinated and collaborative efforts aimed at elimination. Everyone has a role to play in eliminating the public health threat of viral hepatitis.
