New CDC Training on Prescription Drug Monitoring Programs
Using the Prescription Drug Monitoring Program to Promote Patient Safety in Opioid Prescribing and Dispensing is the newest release (Module 13) from CDC in the interactive online training series for healthcare providers on Applying CDC’s Guideline for Prescribing Opioids.
This module offers tips, tools, and resources to help healthcare providers (physicians, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants), state health departments, and prescription drug monitoring program managers leverage prescription drug monitoring programs to improve opioid prescribing practices and reduce opioid-related harms.
The self-paced module features recommendations from CDC’s Guideline for Prescribing Opioids for Chronic Pain, and offers free continuing education.
