During this challenging and uncertain time in our lives, women may tend to place the health needs of others before their own. This National Women’s Heath Week (NWHW), May 10-16, join the FDA Office of Women’s Health (OWH) as we encourage women to also focus on their own health and well-being. NWHW kicked off on Mother’s Day, which we hope you were able to enjoy in your own special way. Each day, OWH is highlighting an important health topic to encourage women to make their health a priority. Take this time to make health decisions and establish habits for you and your family that will last a lifetime. Please download and share the messages in our updated National Women’s Health Week Partner Social Media toolkit.
Did you know that women are twice as likely as men to be diagnosed with depression? May is Mental Health Month and a great time to check in on how you are feeling, especially in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic which has added additional stressors for many individuals, families, and communities. Learn more about the symptoms of depression and download our medicine booklet for specific depression treatment information. Please stay in touch with us for the latest women’s health updates on Twitter, Pinterest, and other platforms and feel free to link to the FDA For Women and Women’s Health Research webpages for additional information.
