The Make Your Move coalition developed bar workshops to better equip bar staff, especially men, with the skills to recognize sexually aggressive behavior, and then intervene safely. Make Your Move is an adaptation of Bringing in the Bystander, which is featured in CDC’s technical packages for preventing sexual and intimate partner violence. Enable Audio Descriptions

National Centers of Excellence in Youth Violence Prevention (YVPCS)
The CDC’s Division of Violence Prevention (DVP) currently funds five Youth Violence Prevention Centers (YVPCs) that work to reduce youth violence in local communities across the nation in an effort to eliminate the causes and consequences of a major public health issue.
SafERteens Prevents Youth Violence
SafERteens is an evidence-based brief intervention that is implemented in Emergency Departments. This 30-minute intervention is designed for youth who present to Emergency Departments with violence or alcohol problems (a demonstrated risk factor for youth violence) and has the goal of reducing future violence revictimization, substance use, involvement in crime and violence, and rates of entry or re-entry into the criminal justice system. The National Violent Death Reporting System (NVDRS) is the only state-based surveillance system that collects and links data from multiple sources on the entire violent incident into one anonymous database, providing context about victims and suspects; their relationships; preceding circumstances; and weapons used, among other variables.
