Resources and Support for People Affected by Inhibitors

There are many resources available for people with inhibitors, and their families, to get support.
  • The National Hemophilia Foundation (NHF) Inhibitor Education Summits. These summits are intended for patients, caregivers, and staff members from HTCs and NHF chapter organizations. The summits allow attendees to learn from each other’s experiences, as well as from experts. Past topics have addressed new drugs in development, tips for parents, sports and exercise, immune tolerance therapy, and the needs of older adults with hemophilia who have an inhibitor.
  • The Hemophilia Federation of America’s Helping Hands Program. For those in need, this program offers financial assistance to pay for attendance at eligible national and state bleeding disorder educational meetings; travel for necessary medical procedures, surgeries, and second opinions; and tutoring or education-related expenses.
  • CDC’s Flickr AlbumThis album features the stories of those people living with hemophilia who have the added challenge of living life with an inhibitor.
Help spread the word about hemophilia and the risk for inhibitors! Share these resources on social media, and follow us on Twitter @CDC_NCBDDD to stay up-to-date on the latest news and updates.
