Govt allows use of anti-HIV medication for high-risk coronavirus patients |
The Union Health Ministry has recommended the use of antiviral drugs on a “case-to-case basis” for “high-risk patients” aged above 60 years with underlying conditions. The recommendation was made after two COVID-positive Italian tourists were administered the Lopinavir/Ritonavir combination, usually a second-line HIV medication, and recovered. India reported its third death on Tuesday, as the total number of confirmed cases climbed to 137, including 14 people who have recovered. |
