Final Recommendation Statement: Screening for Autism Spectrum Disorder in Young Children

The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force released today a final recommendation statement on screening for autism spectrum disorder in young children. The Task Force found that more evidence is needed to make a recommendation on the benefits and harms of screening young children for autism. The Task Force’s I statement is not a recommendation against screening.
