SAMHSA Headlines

The purpose of this program is to expand the availability of comprehensive, residential substance abuse treatment, prevention, and recovery support services for pregnant and postpartum women and their minor children.
A new SAMHSA report shows that 38.3 percent of the 15.2 million American adults who had experienced a major depressive episode in the past year did not talk to a health care provider or an alternative service provider.
As a result of the fiscal year (FY) 2014 "Consolidated Appropriations Act" (P.L. 113-76), SAMHSA will provide expanded help to meet the mental health needs of individuals, families, and communities across the Nation.
The purpose of this program is to improve behavioral health outcomes for children and youth with serious emotional disturbances, and to improve the health and well-being of their families.
