2011 National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) Public-Use Data File Released
The data and documentation files for the 2011 NSDUH are now available via download, online analysis, and Quick Tables.
NSDUH is the primary source of national and state-level estimates on the prevalence, patterns, and consequences of alcohol, tobacco, and illegal drug use and abuse in the general U.S. civilian noninstitutionalized population. The survey is also a source of national estimates on mental health measures such as serious mental illness, other mental illness, depression, and treatment. NSDUH data are collected annually through nationally representative interviews with approximately 70,000 randomly selected individuals age 12 and older.
The 2011 NSDUH report [PDF - 3.2 MB] is available from SAMHSA.
SAMHDA is sponsored by the Center for Behavioral Health Statistics and Quality, SAMHSA, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, and is located at the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research, Institute for Social Research, University of Michigan.
