On Tuesday 17 June, the European Parliament, the Council of the EU and the European Commission held their first trilogue meeting on the reform of Europe’s general pharmaceutical legislation – also known as the ‘pharmaceutical package’.
Yesterday, EU institutions began trilogue negotiations on the general pharmaceutical legislation – also known as the 'pharmaceutical package' – marking the most significant reform of EU medicines policy in two decades.
With the potential to shape how therapies are developed and accessed across Europe, the outcome of these negotiations could prove decisive for the 30 million people living with rare diseases.
At this crucial stage, EURORDIS is calling for stronger support for innovation, a more effective system of incentives, and meaningful patient involvement.
