This July marks 25 years since an important milestone was reached in the Human Genome Project. That month, a team of researchers at the NHGRI, led by our current director Eric Green, M.D., Ph.D., announced the completion of a physical map of Chromosome 7. This chromosome accounts for approximately five person of the human genome and is associated with several genetic disorders, including Williams Syndrome.
