Clot Killing Drugs For a Heart Attack -- In Depth Doctor's Interview

Our In-Depth Doctor’s Interview is with Richard Smalling, M.D., Ph.D., an interventional cardiologist at University of Texas Health/Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston who talks about the benefits of giving a clot-busting drug in the ambulance to patients who are having a heart attack. His number one tip if you think you’re having a heart attack is to call 911 and not worry about whether or not others will make fun of you in case it’s a false alarm. I have two friends who have been told by their doctors to call 911 if they feel they’re having a heart attack, and to then take an aspirin even before the emergency medical team arrives.
