The Fight Against Cervical Cancer Starts with HPV Vaccination

Nearly 13,000 women are diagnosed with cervical cancer in the United States each year. The HPV vaccine, which prevents 9 out of 10 cases of cervical cancer, could help eliminate cervical cancer in the United States. In fact, the vaccine can prevent more than 30,000 cancer cases caused by HPV each year including cervical cancer, mouth and throat cancer, anal cancer, vaginal cancer, and vulvar cancer.

Fighting cervical cancer and other cancers caused by HPV begins with HPV vaccination starting at age 11 or 12. As we recognize Cervical Health Awareness Month and HPV Awareness Week this month, please take a moment to share this important message: HPV vaccination is cancer prevention. Please join the fight to #EndHPVCancers by letting your patients, loved ones, and community know the importance of HPV vaccination.
