Scientists have created the first interactive map that shows how proteins move as a cell divides. Hundreds of proteins work together during mitosis, when one cell divides and becomes two cells. Researchers at EMBL took data from an existing cell atlas and used it to create an interactive, 4D model of a dividing cell. A user can pick any combination of proteins they’re interested in and watch where they work and which other proteins they work with during cell division. The team is making the resource publicly available so that other scientists can use it.
