Dear Colleagues:
On behalf of Let’s Move Faith & Communities, and our partners at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, we want to share an exciting upcoming webinar training opportunity with you. Due to popular demand, we are offering another training session for Media-Smart Youth®: Eat, Think and Be Active! on July 23, 2014 from 1-2:30 p.m. EDT.
Media-Smart Youth®: Eat, Think and Be Active! is an interactive education program designed to help young people ages 11 to 13 better understand the connections between media and their health, particularly as it relates to nutrition and physical activity.
The program gives young people a chance to learn by doing. Throughout the lessons, youth discover healthy snack recipes and fun new ways to be physically active. They also analyze advertisements and create media products of their own to encourage their friends to eat healthy and move more.
Community and faith-based leaders may be interested in using the curriculum to supplement existing programming or in partnership with schools, afterschool programs, or other youth-serving organizations.
The Media-Smart Youth training series is presented by the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development and co-hosted by Let’s Move Faith and Communities.
If you would like to request a certificate of completion, please write MediaSmartYouth@mail. nih.gov after the webinar. Certificates will only be awarded to attendees who submit an email request.
Please join us for what promises to be an enriching and engaging discussion and help us spread the word to your colleagues. We hope you are able to attend!
Best wishes,
The Let’s Move Faith & Communities Team
